With ten properties totalling 350,000 m², we take responsibility and always invest in modern, energy-optimised properties. Our overall approach and goals are the same for all properties, and on a daily basis we can do extra for our properties in Ørestad, at Weidekampsgade 12-16 and Sundkrogsgade 7-9, where we manage the day-to-day operations ourselves.

Goals and objectives

Together with our colleagues in Norway and Sweden we work with targets and an environmental action plan. For example, all our properties must be environmentally certified and have an environmental action plan. We have a number of long-term energy initiatives to reduce consumption both through investments and co-operation with our customers. When we build, furnish and operate, we do so with an eye for climate impact and based on ethical guidelines for our suppliers.

Climate investments

KLP is Norway's largest pension company, and since 2018, the group has had a target to increase climate-friendly investments worldwide by NOK 6 billion (approx. DDK 4.4 billion) each year. In 2020, this target was exceeded by a good margin, as KLP invested a new NOK 8.8 billion (approx. DDK 6.4 billion) in climate-friendly investments.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

Nine of the UN Sustainable Development Goals are particularly relevant to the property industry, and we work with them on a daily basis.

DGNB

Partnerships and suppliers

Together we can do more. That's why we collaborate with the local community and in networks such as ØICC and Copenhagen Municipality's EnergiSpring.

On a daily basis, we have Glad Service, one of Denmark's largest social economy organisations, to take care of our housekeeping in our properties in Ørestad.

We also play a major role as a purchaser of goods and services, both in terms of day-to-day operations and, for example, new leasehold improvements. In line with our ISO9001/14001 management system, we will always prioritise suppliers, who are environmentally certified and can demonstrate systematic work with social responsibility and the environment. All our suppliers also receive our ethical and social responsibility requirements.

A couple of examples

CSR is the sum of initiatives, both the visionary goals and those from everyday practice. Here are some concrete examples of the latter.

GENTRÆ (RECYCLED WOOD) saves over 7 tonnes of CO2

Construction sites use a lot of wood that could actually be recycled. Through the GENTRÆ programme, we handed in 18,065 kg of wood, mainly plywood from our HUB1 construction project. The wood was reused to build a skateboard facility.

School pupils taught on the construction site

Together with our contractor Hoffmann, we entered into a collaboration with our neighbour Ørestad Skole. This meant that students were taught at our construction site and, for example, used maths to mix concrete. The goal was to get more people interested in construction.

Eco bronze and less food waste

Our service operator Madkastellet provides daily lunch and meeting catering with an eye for ecology and optimisation of food waste.

Solar cells on HUB1

Our newest property at Kay Fiskers Plads was born with solar panels on the roof. In 2022, we received 202.3 MWh in direct energy subsidies from above. In round figures, this would correspond to the consumption of 45 households (2 adults, 2 children, 150 m²). You can see the current figures here
